"I just listened to the Moongold record 3 times in a row, but I didn’t even realize it. It’s the kind of album your savvy music friends will put on, and you’ll try to catch a glimpse of the artist's name without anyone noticing. Moongold is intellectual chill out music at it's best.
Moongold evokes the best elements of soul/jazz musicians like Reuben Wilson and the downtempo, trip-hop sounds of Bonobo mixed with electronic style of someone like Jon Kennedy. The music is inspired by the intersection of soul, trip-hop and electronic music. There is a collaboration going on here between music styles and music fans; it's hard not to appreciate the respect Moongold has for the sounds and styles that came before them.
The stunningly elegant and clever touches weave the record together flawlessly. Like I said, I listened to it 3 times over without really noticing the time that had gone by. Intellectual chill out music has never been this easy on the ears."
